Back to School with Schoolpool

The 2015-16 school year has kicked off and is shaping up to be the biggest year ever for Way to Go’s Schoolpool program. More than 130 schools around the region work with the Way to Go team to match students and families who live close to each other and could share a ride to school. Schoolpool lets parents share driving responsibilities with neighbors and provides a list of people they can contact, for full- or part-time carpooling. The program also serves as emergency transportation in case of bad weather, illness or car trouble.

What's Your Mode to Go? HOV Lanes

Currently, high occupancy means two or more people per vehicle. It’s scheduled to jump to three or more occupants per vehicle at the beginning of 2017. Using the online tools at www.MyWayToGo.org is the easiest, most comprehensive way to find potential commuting partners to form new carpool and vanpool groups. This is a great way to get enough people together to switch your transponder from “Toll” to “HOV” and travel for free in the new Express Lanes, saving you time, money and the headache of a stop-and-go rush hour commute.

What's Your Mode to Go? Bike Lanes

In the midst of the June 24 festivities for Way to Go’s Bike to Work Day, dignitaries from the U.S. 36 Corridor joined CDOT Director Shailen Bhatt in the ribbon cutting ceremony, officially opening the first phase for the new bikeway. Phase 1 runs along U.S. 36 from 80th Avenue in Westminster to Interlocken Boulevard in Broomfield, with the second phase connecting to Table Mesa Drive in Boulder, scheduled to be completed in early 2016.

Denver Water and Way to Go Team Up to Provide Commuting Solutions

On July 24 the Way to Go team hosted the first ever Punch! (puzzle + lunch) event at Denver Water, and it was a tremendous success. Over 70 employees attended this unique “lunch and learn” designed to make it easy to connect with their Denver Water co-workers with the goal of forming carpools and vanpools for their daily commute. Attendees were divided into teams based on their home addresses and then worked together to assemble puzzles and look for clues for their group’s game cards. Teams with the highest scores had a chance to win prizes. The result?
